Meet the founders

Tamer Hussein, Founder and General Manager

Tamer has 20 years of international experience in Europe, Middle East, Africa and North America in learning & development as a strategist, consultant and trainer in leadership, management, customer service, motivational, team building & technical skills in a variety of disciplines & environments from enterprise, retail, service, government, financial and customer support. Assessing training needs, developing customized programs inline with organizational objectives as well as strategic planning and implementation are his specialty. Of late, his positions have grown into training in the areas of strategic business planning, implementation with a heavy specialization in strategic leadership and sustainable leadership roles. The latest techniques in training, profiling, psychometric & evaluation tools have become his forte. During his career he has lead learning & development departments in some of the world’s top multinationals like Ericsson, Fiat, TUI, KPN, ABN AMRO, IBM, DELL, KLM and many others to become performance driven organizations.

Tamer was formally Head of Training at Etisalat one of the leading telecommunications companies in the region. Before Etisalat Tamer was EMEA Training Director at APC American Power Conversion where he was responsible for the training and development of 2000 staff in 24 countries on three continents. In 2009 he started as an entrepreneur developing and delivering unique training modules in the UAE.

Tamer Hussein is very experienced in the Gulf Region having worked in most Gulf countries since first commencing work here in 2000. Tamer is a native Arabic speaker and has successfully delivered ‘open’ and ‘in-house’ courses for many companies in the Middle East.

Antoaneta Popova, Founding Director, iLearn Sustainability

Antoaneta started her career 15 years ago, when sustainability in Europe was still considered a risk and efforts were directed at managing environmental and societal conflicts. As a consultant for a leading international think tank in sustainability and innovation, based in Amsterdam, she has worked closely with board members and senior decision makers from some of the largest multinationals many of which are Fortune 500 to achieve transformative leadership on the sustainability agenda. Many of her former clients like Procter&Gamble, TNT, Akzo Nobel and Heineken have become leaders in their sectors and have been listed consecutively number one by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index.

In 2007 she was invited as a sustainability trainer and coach at the Fifth International Expedition to Antarctica where together with the organiser, Robert Swan (first person to walk both the North & South poles) she lead a group of 70 corporate leaders and entrepreneurs and leaders in society from all over the world and conducted workshops on climate change and CSR and prepared them to become upon their return sustainability ambassadors in their home countries and organizations.

Antoaneta was formerly the Head of CSR & Sustainability at Sama Dubai, a multi billion-dollar international property development arm of Dubai Holding, where she introduced the first of its kind in the Middle East sustainability framework incorporated throughout all business management systems and published one of the first GRI CSR reports in the region.

In 2009 she founded the Sustainability Division of iLearn, working with senior executives of some of the largest organizations in the Middle East focusing on providing them the knowledge and skills to develop signature CSR strategies and integrate responsible and sustainable practices into their organisations.

Antoaneta is a courageous visionary able to challenge any organization and industry and lead it to become a role model in sustainability and CSR for others to benchmark against. She is regularly invited as a guest lecturer and keynote speaker at universities and internationally renowned CSR conferences. She is also a moderator and motivational speaker.
